New Gig - New Music

I know I have been super quiet lately. It is not necessarily that music has taken a backseat, but my videos and blogs have.
I still play a little piano or do some singing every single day, I simply have not had the time to write about it. (And really, writing and recording is not a priority as long as I am still practicing each day).

Our house has been BUSY!

We decided to adopt a brand new puppy - we are so in love with him. Training has been taking up the majority of our time.
Seriously.
Sleep has even taken a back seat.
We are focusing on maintaining a routine and getting our new little guy accustomed to our routine. When a little tiny being requires 24/7 supervision, luxuries often get placed on the back burner.

With that said - I am THRILLED to be singing for the Crohn's and Colitis Casino Night next weekend!!
I always look forward to this fundraiser - the atmosphere is always wonderfully fun, the food is fantastic, and the auction items are SO cool. Oh yeah, and there is live music! (Me!!)
Our family and friends also donated a couple of items for the auction - my beautiful friend Melissa donated some art pieces, my dad donated a stunning photo of Writing-On-Stone at night being slightly lit by the moon, and I donated a small art piece with poetry to accompany the photo.
Just an extra piece of my artistic soul for a good cause.

What I am MOST excited about, though, is that it will have a bit of an Irish flair to it! It is, as fate would have it, the same weekend as St. Patrick's Day.
What does this mean??
It means that I have been brushing up on a little bit of Irish and Celtic music to match the theme.

Here's the problem:
I have been so sleep-deprived I only thought about this amazing opportunity to learn more Irish music today. So I am trying to learn several brand new songs... a week before performing.
Luckily I already know a few songs that could match the theme, so if I really cannot learn songs confidently enough, I still have more music than I need to perform.

I am SO excited to unveil some new music, and subsequently record a few more videos soon!!

Now all I need to find is a green outfit!
