Current Repertoire

I am currently working on a list of songs that are in my 'Active Repertoire'.
It is quite a big undertaking and has taken me weeks so far to gather up all of the music to be included.

My 'Active Repertoire' (AR) is, essentially, all of the music that I am comfortable playing right now. These are songs that I can pick up on a Thursday and feel entirely confident in playing/singing them by that Saturday. They are songs that have been in my binder for months or even years, that I have either already recorded or performed, and that I have my own personal attachment to.
Just like any closet full of current styles, there will be songs that are taken off that list and even more songs that will be added to that list as time goes by.
For now I am just trying to get a comprehensive list.

This list will include four parts:

1. Songs for solo performance with both piano and vocals.

2. Instrumental music - piano only.

3. Sacred hymnal songs.

4. Christmas tunes.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to separate the first two. Essentially every song that I play and sing can also be just played... but the instrumental song list will include music without lyrics only.

I think it is kind of a neat idea to have a concise list of songs - that way, if you want to request a song that I have not done or if I am singing for a fundraiser, you can see what kind of music I generally perform.
The only list I am not going to include is the list of songs I performed as a solo vocalist. Whether it be from my competitive singing days, my University degree music, or the songs I sang while in a band or in a duo, if I cannot perform them on my own, they will not be listed.

I think it is absolutely incredible the amount of music we can memorize! So many people are just walking around with hundreds, or even thousands, of songs in their heads. A song comes on the radio and we can just bust out all of the lyrics, the vocal nuances, and instrumental breaks without even thinking. Not to mention all of the random jingles swimming around in our heads.

So just like at karaoke night - if there is a song you want me to do but don't know if it is in my current repertoire - there will SOON be a complete list of all of my active music.
I am very excited about this.
Mostly because I love lists.
