Stampede Time!

It's that week again - Stampede!
The time of nonstop country music, strange and wonderfully new deep fried foods, fairway rides, carnival games, stuffed animals, concerts, livestock, and a sea of denim and plaid.
I love Stampede. I love the rides (even though I can't really go on them much anymore) and I love trying all of the new foods while being surrounded by music. Lots and lots of music.
Music at each game, each stand, each food truck, live on stage, live in different parts of the grounds. Just always music.
(I think I would love Nashville if I can ever make my way down there).

Being a musician, playing any music during Stampede week is a total and complete honour. I have done a Stampede Breakfast before, I've sung at a little wine bar during this week several years ago, a coffee shop another year, and I am happy to say that I'll be singing at a condo building's celebration this week, plus *maybe* one more spot over the weekend.
You know what this means?
I get to shamelessly bring out my 'Country Music' binder (which is bright yellow) AND learn some new tunes.
Also, since I have begun to learn the Ukulele (that's right - I am attempting to learn a new instrument that is a little easier on my hands than a guitar), I am hoping that I will be able to learn more fast-paced tunes by next year accompanied by a ukulele.
So exciting!

So get your boots on, get into your country music spirit, and hang on for dear life - this week is just gettin' started!

I love My Musical Life
