All month long I have been sharing live clips of me singing Christmas Carols.
I do not know how many years it has been now since I was able to sing at the airport and play on a specially painted upright piano for the season.
I recorded nearly the entire session and have clipped the songs separately to share them online as the month passes.
Songs include:
A hauntingly beautiful piece that I have always loved.
2. Turn Me On
Part of the soundtrack to a classic Christmas movie: Love, Actually.
It never quite feels like Christmas until this song comes on the radio.
A fun Irish jig to keep the festivities going.
A playful tune less about Christmas and more about the year to come.
A classic to most, but newer to me. I first heard this tune (as far as I can remember) when Pentatonix did a cover of it. So I am essentially performing a cover of a cover...
A heart-wrenching favourite.
A bit of a medley due to the timing and chord progression found in both songs (which is also found in thousands upon thousands of others - the iconic I VI IV V).
One of my favourites.
10. Hallelujah
Less of a Christmas song and more of a fan-favourite.
11. Jingle Bell Rock
A slower cover of a classic.
An instrumental to give my voice a rest. Also the song that was played as I walked down the aisle on our wedding day. Definite feels for me, personally.
More songs are available during the season that I have not mentioned here. Stay tuned on my youtube channel for more classics and new covers & originals coming in the new year.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy New Year.
Stay warm and cozy.
Don't forget a live performance this Sunday afternoon at the Chapters in Shawnessy. Perfect for a seasonal latté at Starbucks, picking out last minute presents, or finding a cozy spot beside the fireplace to read a new book.
Above all - I love My Musical Life!
