I have truly missed being a part of a musical cast and singing with a group of people. Luckily for me, this theatre company sometimes includes backstage singers! So I auditioned and was offered the part.
That means that not only do I get to be involved, I get to learn and improve, and all of the benefits that come with being involved in such a production, while also protecting my health. God knows that trying to participate in active choreography, costume changes, or just being expected to have all the energy to perform on stage every night during the run of the show is beyond my physical capabilities.
This way - as a backstage singer - I am essentially dispensible if my body retaliates, and I can easily just find a spot to sit and still sing my parts.
Beyond excited, a little apprehensive and hoping my body cooperates, and feeling very honoured to be involved.
