Ryan and I are planning our wedding for this coming September.
One of the parts of the wedding that is esecially important is the music. We already have a pretty good idea of what we would like to be played during the ceremony, but we have yet to really go through a wedding reception setlist.
We are cutting corners pretty much everywhere in the planning, and foregoing a dj is part of it. As much as a live band would be IDEAL, it just isn't in the cards, and a full dj experience is not in the cards either.
Instead, we have opted to customize our own wedding setlist and to designate one of our friends to run the music. Sure, a dj running it would be such a smaller stress, but we have LOTS of time to come up with a playlist, and I am fairly experienced with coming up with setlists myself - so I am very optimistic.
So now I need to go through all of my personal music, all of RJ's personal music, some top 100 lists from the past several years, and then pay attention to all of the new tunes coming out before the wedding date.
Both of us are huge country fans, and we both love oldies, then we want to add some amazing upbeat rock tunes, and some pop songs. We want a good mix - probably 40% country, 20% oldies, 20% rock, 15% pop, 5% slow. I already have a short list that I am working on, along with some 'must-haves', but it is going to be a long process.
Good thing I love #MyMusicalLife
Any amazing ideas from friends/fans?????
