I had previously written a detailed post about what kind of formula it takes to achieve success, and that in order to 'make it', that formula has to be present, but that it takes a variety of forms.
There is one quote that I wanted to mention:
"The harder I work, the more luck I seem to have."
I like this quote very much. It does not discount entirely the role that luck has to play, but insinuates that most people who are successful have become that way primarily due to hard work; back-breaking, unceasing, uncompromising, hard work.
Luck is for the circumstances we have zero control over. We may think we have control, but true and genuine control is an illusion. We have no way of knowing, for absolute certain, the depth of another's knowledge. Therefore, we can never predict, with a nonexistent margin of error, every thought or action another person will think or do. The harder you work, the more you train or study or practice or apply your skills, the more versatile and intelligent you will become in your specific field if knowledge. The harder you work, the fewer variables you have to be concerned about. The more you learn, the better you can predict.
Your hard work allows you to rely less on luck and more on experience. So certain aspects of your life that may have seemed lucky at the beginning of your journey to success would only be viewed as an ordinary occurence once you have reached a level you are confident with.
The harder you work, the luckier you may become. Don't discount luck - I think it is far more powerful than people imagine. On the flip side, no one is successful ONLY based on luck. Neither should be discounted.
That is why it is so important to keep practicing and improving and trying new things and always holding out hope. Working towards a goal is the best way to go, and hopefully my luck will continue to improve as well.
Either way - whether I am ever known for my music or not - I still love
